Durham Constabulary has launched an initiative called Keep in the Know which is a free messaging service where you can get alerts to things going on in the area and if you register your CCTV then it may be helpful to the police in the future. Use the link below for further details.
We are encouraging individuals and groups to help make Wingate a clean and tidy place to live by undertaking litter picking on a volunteer basis. We hoping to establish a ‘Wingate Wombles’ group, an informal group of volunteer litter pickers.
The Parish Council will provide you with equipment including; a litter picker, a ‘bago hoop’ which holds rubbish bags open and rubbish bags. Working with colleagues from the Community Association, we will also provide a central location where rubbish bags can be dropped for Collection by the County Council.
Two sets of equipment are permitted per household, hopefully to encourage adults, children and families to take part.

A Covid vaccination bus will be in Peterlee Town Centre on Friday 2 July. Please see further details below.

The next Parish Council meeting has been rearranged from Monday 14 June to Monday 21 June commencing at 6:30pm.
The Parish Council summer play scheme is taking place from Monday 2 August to Friday 13 August with activities taking place in and around the Community Centre. Registration details will follow nearer the time.
Also, the summer away day will be to South Shields on Saturday 14 August. Again details to follow nearer the time.
