The Parish Council serves the community of Wingate, which is a former mining village situated to the west of the A19 in the county of Durham.
The Council is made up of 9 elected Parish Councillors.

The Parish Council bought Wingate Welfare Park from British Coal in 1994 and it remains an important priority for the Parish Council and something it continues to manage and invest in. Further information on The Park is available on the Wingate Welfare Park section of the website.
